IHI Tsunagu Lab and i-Base create new values provided by the IHI Group through dialogues with customers to build a sustainable society where nature and technology work in unity. Through an agile development based on design thinking, we aim to find solutions that are accepted by society, quickly run the cycle of prototyping and verification, verify concepts or new ideas (Proof of Concept: PoC), and commercialize them.

Business incubation base in Silicon Valley By connecting with various excellent technologies and human resources (investors, startups, etc.) in North America, IHI Launch Pad can accelerate the creation of new businesses for the IHI Group and provide new values to customers and society. It also contributes to the ecosystem in North America by helping its partners expand their businesses.

Soma Lab

Soma IHI Green Energy Center

As an advanced technology development base for hydrogen utilization, the Soma IHI Green Energy Center conducts research and demonstration tests for hydrogen utilization or energy carrier conversion technology with an eye toward the future hydrogen society. In addition, it is open to research institutes and other companies as an open innovation base, and further provide a place for hands-on learning activities for local elementary and junior high schools to promote understanding of chemistry and energy including hydrogen.
